Fifth Annual Celebrate Pro Bono Reception

The Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee of the Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) held its Fifth Annual Celebrate Pro Bono Reception on October 22nd at the Caterpillar Visitors Center, in celebration of National Pro Bono Week.  The even celebrated and recognized the achievement ad work of the attorneys who have provided pro bono legal services through Prairie State Legal Services and all pro bono opportunities offered through PILI's Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Committee this past year.  One hundred and fourteen attorneys provided pro bono legal assistance to those in need this past year.  Illinois Supreme Court Justice Thomas Kilbride offered keynote remarks, and Chief Judge Paul Gilfillan of the Tenth Judicial Circuit provided a welcome and presented the 10th Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Award to Abigail Fleming.  Congratulations to the following attorneys who were recognized for their extraordinary commitment to pro bono work this past year:

Parker & Parker, Peoria County Pro Bono Law Firm of the Year
Jennifer Bonesteel, Peoria County Pro Bono Attorney of the Year 
Elizabeth Arcot, Peoria County Pro Bono Young Lawyer of the Year 
James Kane, Prairie State Legal Services Equal Access to Justice Award 
Julia Mackert, Prairie State Legal Services Joined in Justice Award 
Abigail Fleming, Tenth Judicial Circuit Pro Bono Award
