Through a grant awarded by the Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority, the 10th Circuit Family Violence Coordinating Council provides a coordinated response to family violence in our communities. The Council works to improve institutional, professional and community responses to family violence issues, including child abuse, domestic abuse, and elder abuse. It also engages in educational, intervention, prevention and coordination of services for victims and perpetrators of child abuse, domestic violence, elder abuse and abuse of people with disabilities.
A goal of the Council is to contribute to the improvement of the legal system and the administration of justice. Trainings are held throughout the year to educate criminal justice and family violence professionals on family violence issues.
